DIY Flax Energy Balls

Literally the easiest snack to make, and the hardest snack not to eat all day.

I love to make my own food because I know where its coming from, I love to create anything and food is great so its a win win win. I first had these during a family reunion this past summer and I haven't stopped loving them! My favorite thing about these is that the ingredients are super affordable but very good for you. An extra money saving tip is to purchase the ingredients that you can in bulk!

DIY Flax Energy Balls*
  • 1 Cup Rolled Oats

  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips

  • 1/2 Cup Ground Flax Seed

  • 1/2 Cup Creamy or Crunchy Nut Butter

  • 1/3 Cup Honey or Maple Syrup

  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract


  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl

  2. Lay parchment paper or silicone mat on baking sheet

  3. Form mixture into balls (about 1" round)- the mixture will be very sticky.

  4. Place balls on the sheet and into the freezer for about 1 hour.

  5. Now they are ready! We like to transfer the balls into a bag once frozen and keep them in the freezer or fridge to keep them cool and crunchy.
